Sheryl Crow said, "Every day is a winding road." I believe it. On Tuesday it was announced that our beloved principal Ms. Smith had been given a new position at central office. :( We will have an interim principal beginning on Monday. It has been interesting and definitely a time of questioning. Our new supt. is a difficult man to understand. Good thing I work for Jesus.

The other night Bucky said something that made my heart skip a beat. "Can I have the old Su back?"

We were on our way back from a late night run to Robbie and Lori's house to swap out food , something we often do, and we were hand in hand and all was right with the world. Then he said it. "Can I have the old Su back?"

I didn't really know how to respond. But I knew what he meant.

I've been grumpy. I've been moody. I've been a way less-than-perfect mother. My good deeds have all but gone by the wayside. I've been short with Bucky. I say things I don't mean. I never relax. Simply put, most days I'm a mess.

The cause? Oh, I guess any number of things. I love my life. Oh, how I treasure it. I am just.....tired. Spent. Exhausted. That particular day I'd arrived at school before 7, had a meeting at school until 5, had to come home and bake monkey bread for small group at 6, attend small group, go get the boys at the baby-sitter's and then try to come home and get things laid out for the next day. Shew!

There's school, meetings, kids, church, cleaning, grades, nurturing Adam and Luke, laundry, refereeing fights, church, conversations with Bucky, things I want to do personally, and the list goes on and on. I'm just tired.

I guess I'm trying to find balance. I think I need some sort of release or hobby and I'm not really sure what that is. I want it soon though.

Not every day do I feel like this. For example, tonight I feel very positive and in control of things. That is, for a brief explosion when Adam and Luke were fighting over flashlights. Seriously?

Anyway, I'm not saying any of this for a pity party. I'm saying this because admitting it is the first step to recovery. At least, that's what I've heard. I know every woman feels like this at some point. As Bucky says, I've got to "rise above."

My favorite verse lately that I've have almost literally held on to is this: "Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always." Psalm 105:4

Here's wishing that the old Su takes up permanent residence at 120 James Way.

Here I am. I have been meaning to blog but just haven't made the time. Lots has been going on with my crew. Here's the low down.

We are in our new house. We are loving James Way. The backyard makes me so very happy. Just today Luke and I took advantage of it. He can really hit the ball. I love pitching to him. He likes it just a bit outside, just like Adam did at that age. We really labored on Labor Day, but there are lots more things to do here. Little by little they will be accomplished.

Adam is doing well in Kindergarten. He is learning lots. Vocabulary-out of this world! Had his first hnting experience last weekend and loved it.

Luke is doing well. Bucky and I are working towards a more positive attitude toward the terrible twos. We are dealing with some official fits. Wow! We had his "dandelion" hair cut today. It is precious. Can't wait to share some photos on here of lots of things but especially of some pictures KK took of the boys last weekend. They are great!

Callie is a new dog. She loves having some freedom back yet she still wants to be wherever we are.

Bucky is fine. I am fine.

A Full Plate

Things are buzzing with our lovely family of four! Our plates are full....and sometimes overflowering if we're honest. Here's a run down of things in Whirlin' Sterlin' lately.

Adam is loving Kindergarten.....all except the get-up-early-be-in-a-good-mood part. We've really had to change his bedtime. Right now he is going down at 8. Some days are better than other. I got a really great note from his teacher and she says he's doing well. We are proud.

Luke is adjusting to the new two year old room at daycare (now called "school" to match Adam) and he seems so grown up. When I pick him up I sometimes can't believe he is so big. The other day he was swinging by himself. He's had some issues with hitting but hopefully we can get those resolved. His hair is whiter and spikier than ever. I'm using gel on it on pretty regular basis to help. Hopefully I can tame it.

Bucky is staying busy with ending summer programming and planning fall programming. The Amazing Race went very well. Tonight is the awards program. He is also the football chaplain of the MC Indians football team. He goes to practice on Thursdays and Friday game nights.

Josh Powell. Do you know that name? He's the new superintendant of MC Schools and him coming here has had a big, no huge, impact on my life as a teacher. He wants to help bring up MC test scores and will do whatever it takes. Translated, that means I have LOTS LOTS LOTS LOTS more to do and MUCH MUCH MUCH higher expectations to deal with. It's crazy. Teaching in RC was like teaching in Heaven. Seriously. Teaching in MC in great as well. It just seems there is more responsibility and things to do. Plans, formative assessments, web pages, instruction driven by data, busy planning times, no meetings during school but after, no flip flops for Pete's sake, new Common Core Standards, and the list goes on and on. And did I say I had a student teacher? She is super and giving her guidance is one more thing on the list. Add to this the fact that ARW is with me after school ready for snack, drink, and entertainment. Shew! Don't get me wrong. I love all I'm doing. This is true! God created me to be a teacher. It's like having my own talk show. It's just that beginning of the school year struggle to find out how to get it all it. Mrs. Smith has given me some responsibilities as well--I'm on her "best and brightest" list (a Powell thing). Needless to say, this girl has no trouble falling asleep at night.

How's that for ranting and raving? On another note, we'll be moving to 120 James Way very soon. I love that address! A shout out to Jamestown for sure! God is funny like that. Reminds you of where you've been and where you're going.

Is this not the CUTEST ! It's a little something I did to put on my new teacher blog for school. And with that being said, I must go do some laundry. No time for fun......except to say that we will be MOVING VERY SOON! You can google 120 James Way Mt. Sterling and check out our new place. We are excited and feeling very blessed! When you have time check out this blog from a KCU professor's wife. I think it was Janette who wrote about it one time and I check it almost daily now. I cry pretty much every time. She's a mother, a teacher, a writer, and her life has had many uphill battles. She writes beautifully about it all. Sunday's post was very inspiring.

I am up early so Adam can go to JumpStart at Camargo. It's a program to help incoming Kindergarten students get familiar with the school and teachers. He is pumped. In fact, he wanted me to write down that I needed to get him up early today. Like I'd forget him! I will work in my room while he is there from 8-12. We will go some days this week and some next week.

We have some houses we want to look at hopefully this week. I am anxious and nervous and scared all at the same time. I know God has the right house for us. Patience, right? It's funny to think that I didn't even want to set up Luke's crib (and just use the Pack n Play) since I thought we'd only be in this house for a few weeks before we found one. Ha! It's a year and a half later.

Luke is pacifier free. Luke is using the potty on a pretty regular basis. Luke is talking so very much and so very well. Luke is having a nice July and will turn two this Sunday. We are having a Mickey Mouse party and hope to have a great time!

Bucky is busy with Amazing Race, softball games, and (still more) youth group trips. It sure makes the time go fast.

Well, time to get up Adam.

I can't believe July is flying by. All the fifth grade teachers met today to talk about the upcoming year. I love a fresh group of kids but can't believe summer is almost over. I'm going to try and enjoy each moment!

It's been an interesting couple of weeks since vacation. Bucky made cameo apperances here on Holt Avenue in between Summer in the Son, Spirit Song, not to mention work and the Amazing Race. The boys and I are doing the summer reading program at the library, had VBS, go to the pool often, and also have been to Cynthiana.

Luke is taking more and more and he's quite the conversationalist! I love to hear him talk. He can pretty much tell you anything. He's also been using the potty some. One day he went three times. Not bad for not even being 2! We have taken the pacifier away. He used it at naps and bedtime and some other times but today is day seven without it. Yay! He clings to his blanket and often has two or three toys with him in bed but all is well. I have noticed that he now wants me more often and I hear, "Mommy!" A LOT! Hopefully this will get better.

Adam is having a nice summer. He loves the Amazing Race and he's Bucky's big helper. He really likes to go to the pool. He is water dog. Of course, Luke is making every splash with him! We've not seen Cars 2 but we've not made it yet. Better do it soon!

That's about it. Luke has gone down for nap, Adam is playing his Leapters and I see some rest in my future. I'll be up and out early for a devotion group. Looking forward to it.

Well, the pictures are on our computer but their organization is lacking. As a result, so are the pictures in this post. I may have to delete them all (1500!) and try again with Bucky's assistance.

This first one is of us at our small group Rootin' Tootin' Shootin' Cookout and Luau. One of the guys in our group is a cop and his wife carries a gun with her all the time. Needless to say, we've all been intrigued by this. They invited us out to their property to shoot and eat. It was a blast. I shot a .22 and a .32 although I really don't know what that means. This was my first attempt at shooting.

We are home from a lovely trip to Pigeon Forge. We've been home since Saturday at 2 and my house looks like we've been here and not cleaned for two weeks. Guess this will be my project for today.

This is a new computer and I haven't made the time to figure out how to do pictures on it the best way. My memory card has WAY TOO MANY photos on it and I don't want them all on here. So....hopefully this week I'll find the chance to work on that. There's lots of pictures I want to post.

Hello, all. I can't believe it's June 13th! Summer is off to a nice start for us. I had two trainings last week but we did manage to get to the pool two days. The boys do well. Adam is pretty much self-sufficient and Luke has no fear. He loves the baby pool but really enjoys jumping into the big pool. At home we do odds and ends. The boys play well alone and often play well together in spurts of time. Seems like they each want what the other one has and that usually ends with me playing referee. Luke takes a nap every day so that helps with things, mostly my sanity.

Luke still has his pacifier. I don't mind him to use it at naps and night but I prefer him not to use it during play time, etc. It truly does provide him comfort so I don't know how it'll go after vacation when we take it away. Yes, after vacation. Who needs the extra stress? I know I don't!

Well, not really in the writing mood. Suffice it to say that it's summertime and the living is easy. :)

Adam's first tball game was last night. He had a large fan club and did exceptionally well. Both hits went into the outfield. He loves to play. It's funny because he loves to bat but in the field he's often just still. The other kiddos all run and dive for the ball and that's just not Adam's personality. One time he did get a ball and threw it to first and he wasnt' looking.

Tomorrow will be our fourth day of testing. Testing seems to wear me out more than actual teaching. I think the kids are doing pretty well. Some have overwhelmed me and some underwhelmed me.

The iPhone is going okay. I can do all I need to do. It's bigger than my old phone and that's different and sort of hard to get used to.

Luke is doing great! He's so busy but he's been reading books and playing with a Handy Manny toy of Adam's for some time. Some nights A and L are constantly getting into it and other nights are lovely. We might meet up with Bucky and the kids for Destination Unknown if this good night keeps up. Berryman's is their destination and it's a local Dairy Queen-like restaurant with old time decor, Coca Cola, etc. He's going to talk about not living the past/holding onto mistakes.

Better go. Here comes Luke with a book he wants me to read. :)

This is my with Amanda Nornhold. Our boys love Amanda and we do too! She's a basketball player and playing tennis for the first time this year. We went to watch her on Thursday and the boys had so much fun. It was at Easy Walker Park and they ran and played. Will, another one of the boys' favorite people was there as well and so they were in their element. I don't think we could survive here in MoCo without Amanda and her mom, Becky. Seriously. They help out tons with A and L and love us so much. Follow the Leader. So thankful for a sunny day so they could play. Adam legs are getting so long.

Our testing theme this year is, "Get Your Engines Revvin' in 2011!" We had Biker Day on Friday and my friend Gwen came through with these fun clothes and wig. The sleeves look like tattoos! Lots of people asked me if these were my weekend clothes. No! This is so polar opposite of me it's not funny.

Easter 2011 was simply great! We had an awesome service at church, we ate wonderful food in Cynthiana, and got to be with family. Really, it was an awesome day. Here are the boys after church. This wooden fence is a favorite spot of mine. Well, we tried to create warm, fuzzy memories by dying eggs. It was not as picture perfect as we would have liked it but oh well.

Luke did fairly well with the eggs. We stuck him with yellow and figured it would be the lightest color if he did make a mess.
Easter morning. You'd think the boys sleep on different continents the way they are dressed. :)

Adam is so silly. He held up some of his treasures.

This is Adam with his friend, Kaden. Kaden and his mom have been coming to church. It's sweet because Kaden came because of Adam. Neat!

We had to hunt eggs inside at GCC. It was still fun and the boys got plenty.

Mr. Luke. This kid is energy on two legs. He definitely stretches me to new heights when it comes to parenting. I've got a feeling I'll be ready many books on strong-willed children. Shew! Good thing he's cute.

We're enjoying the Cadbury Mini-Eggs as of late. Bucky especially loves them. I'm liking the new Diet Caffeine Free Ale-8.

Bucky just read the first bullet and rolled his eyes. I told him I'd been doing laundry for so long (forever last night and all morning today) that I had the right for foolishness like this.

Adam's playing on the Diamondbacks again. We went to practice the other night and he was dressed like it was the world series.

Luke has fallen/tripped several times in the last few weeks and seems to always fall on right eye. Today's cut bled and bled. It looks worse than it is. Maybe it will look better after bath time. He's due for a hair cut soon.

Adam is registered for Kindergarten at Camargo. Wow.

Bucky has been "nesting" lately. He's cleaned/gone through some things at work and done various projects here like cleaning out drawers and working on drains. Spring cleaning, I guess.

CATS test will be soon upon us. Three weeks I guess. Hoping my kids can really show off what they know.

I am recovering from a no-fun bought with poison ivy. This is my first time ever having this.

We had a great meal last night. Bucky grilled out burgers and we also grilled up some onions. It was VERY VERY delicious. On that note, it seems like we can't go through a meal without running out of something. Whether it's a staple like bread, or something random it seems my Walmart list is ongoing.

Adam has a bday party to go to at his favorite gym, TK's. Then we're meeting Kim in Lex. and she'll have him for the night. She has some fun things planned.

This coming week will be the second week in a row where we are literally gone every night. In fact, last night (the one night we've all been home) Adam says, "Who's watching us tonight?" I told him that we'd be home. "Why? I want someone to come watch us!" We've always wanted our boys to be this way (fluid, flexible) but they love it too much maybe! We are blessed with lots of great help!

Buck and I are both in the Easter drama. I play Miryam and Buck is a guard. I think it will go well. Can't believe it's almost Easter. We hope to get the boys some Easter things after we drop of Adam to Kim. It will be neat to just have Luke tonight and tomorrow. He is becoming so fun--and talking up a storm. You should see him read his books. He gets into it!

Okay, better go. I've got several things to do before we head to meet Kim.

We spent Friday night in Lex. at Hyatt Place with Mom, Dad, and Kim. We had a ball. We ate and swam and just enjoyed the time together. Here are few pictures. We stopped at Barnes and Noble on Saturday. Luke loved all the books. He was especially fond on the Mickey and Elmo books.

Luke had all he could take. He fell asleep almost as soon as the car headed towards MoCo. He didn't even get the chance to open his new book.

Adam plays basketball ALL DAY LONG. Seriously. The other day he went to a two hour open gym at the church with some of the kids and then came home to play ball. He is "eat up" with it as the old saying goes. His latest thing is dunking. In fact Luke calls basketball "dunk" now because of Adam. He plans out all his moves, wants me to pass the ball to him, and is always looking for an audience to see his lastest dunk. Most kids play dress up. My kid plays ball.

As far as his attire, perhaps he does play dress up. He wants to wear all his ball clothes. Can you believe he wanted to wear this outfit to a UK party tonight?

Fact: The shirt Luke is wearing is a shirt that I wore when I was his age. How cool! Going retro! Luke has to dunk too!

Hello! We've been having an awesome spring break despite winter temperatures. Bucky and I went to Massanutten, VA from Sunday to Wednesday. It's a resort where our preacher Bill has a timeshare. The whole trip was pretty much free since we took part in their two and a half hour "program." We are proud to say that we are NOT timeshare owners. We shopped, ate, played racquetball, and swam and did the hot tub thing. I had never been in a hot tub outside on a COLD night. By the way, can any KCU reader tell me who I beat in the racquetball finals to be the class champ? Buck and I are pretty much pro and I was rocking the goggles. He played rebel and didn't wear his. By they way, here's a special shout out to Gran and Granddad for watching A and L while we were gone! We stopped in Lexington, VA at at Ruby Tuesday to watch the Cats play on Sunday. We are happy about a trip to the Final Four. Woo Hoo! We've enjoyed all the talk about Shaka Smart and VCU but let's hope they don't win the whole thing. KK spent the night last night. We ate at Melini's and it was so good! Like Kim, I need to quit eating too. Maybe next week. I didn't even hear her leave this morning. Now that is good sleep. Bucky is now 34! I'm back to that time of the year when I'm married to an older man. Actually, he's always older. :) Adam has a tooth coming in behind one of his bottom baby teeth. This concerns me. Should it? I mean, how come his other tooth hasn't come out. It's really not even loose. Let's just hope he doesn't inherit my awful teeth......Thank God for braces. Enough for now. Better get going. The house is so quiet right now and I think it's about to change.

Luke loves Elmo. I mean, loves him. We don't watch Elmo here but they must at daycare. Elmo is on his diapers, he has Elmo books, and a few Elmo toys. It's funny to hear him say Elmo, Cookie and Bird. He also loves Mickey Mouse. He can say Goofy and Donald too. Barney is another character he likes. Mary Blakey gave him a stuffed Barney and he likes to carry it around. He learns so many new things each day. He is 20 months today!
Adam is going to play t-ball again. He is pumped. In fact, he asks about every day. I'm looking forward to the season.
Bucky got an ipad today. He used money from his paypal. He seems excited about it!
KK has been with us this week. It's been fun. Luke can say KK. Adam has been sleeping on the big air mattress with her.
Not much new with me. Lots of observations lately. Looking foward to spring break. Very forward. I had supper with Sherry, Kerry, and Mollie. Love those girls!

Adam Rees--Now 5 and a 1/2! Look how sleepy Luke looks! He's usually begging us to put him to sleep. However, today is the first day he's not gone down for a Sunday afternoon nap. They must have had cookies in his class because he is not showing any signs of slowing down!

It's been so long since I've written. I'm putting the blame on our computer--out of commission for a long time! I think we've finally got it worked out with AT & T. We'll see. I'm sure you're wondering what's up with us. Here are a few highlights.

Adam had a great time with Upward basketball. Bucky was the coach and the little fellas on the team were neat. The cutest (besides Adam) was a little black boy named Q. He loved to dribble and especially shoot. Adam made lots of shots. He did really well. Pictures to (possibly) come later. Adam is reading! It's so exciting!

Luke is learning so much. He can point to lots of body parts--eyes, nose, ears, tongue, etc.---and knows the sounds that lots of animals make. My favorite is the way he says meow for cat. It is hilarious. He's a GREAT eater. Some days I think he's a bottomless pit. Both the boys are learning to like lots of food. Adam has gotten better about trying new things. He even likes duck, wrapped in bacon that is. Ha! Right now they are big fans of spaghetti. They like it with no sauce and lots of "Papa John" cheese.

Bucky's teaching at MCHS. Old Testament and New Testament survey. The teacher is very sick with cancer so Bucky stepped in a few weeks ago and will finish out the year. I think he likes it...but does take away some of his flexibility. He recently had a tooth pulled and that's been interesting.

I've been busy with school and home and church stuff. I'm in the Easter drama "Arise" with one of the main parts. It may be the biggest production I've every done. I hope it turns out well. Things at Camargo are going well. District walk throughs next week and an observation from Mrs. Smith, our principal. Lesson plans are not done yet. Guess I should be working on that instead of typing here. As far as home, I try to keep up the day to day chores. Some days I feel that I work harder at home than I do at school and I BUST MY BUTT at school. We've all been going to bed early. In fact, one night I tried to put Adam down before 8 and he said, "I can't sleep. I'm too waked up!"

I can't believe it! Today's snow was so very pretty. It's melted on the roads now but don't know if we'll go tomorrow or not. I'm ready to get back into a routine and gain some momentum at school. Luke has had an adventurous several days. Thought he was dealing with pneumonia but it turned out to be RSV. We spent Tuesday night at UK Children's Hospital. Longs story short, I am pleased to announce he's MUCH better and still taking meds to ensure we totally get rid of any "rattles" in his chest.

What a beautiful November day. We took advantage of it. Bucky was gone Thursday night, Friday night and has been gone ALL day today for the National Missionary Convention. My house is NOT clean, my laundry is NOT washed, folded and put away, and I've not done much of anything except play with Adam and Luke. It's been fun!

Why is it that Adam can take a good picture and Luke can take a good picture but they can't take a good picture together?

All is well with us. Here's a little bit about what's going on:
Adam--Been to doctor about his bowels and I'm happy to report that things seem to be going very well for now. He's learning so much. He can count to 100 by 1's, 5's, and 10's. Way cool.
Luke--Walking everywhere and loving life. He can dance so good. Think he and Adam may share that dancing gene!
Buck-Staying busy. Coaching A's Upward team. Things are going well at GCC.
Me--Doing fine. School is going well. Looking forward to some time off for my favorite holiday of Thanksgiving. Trying to figure out what we're going to wear in our church directory pictures on Monday.

So I stole the idea from Sherry and took a picture of Adam and Luke's school picture. They looked grainy is color but okay in black and white. At least it gives you the idea. We were unaware that these would be full body shots. Don't know if you can see Adam wearing a gazillion silly bandz. Guess we'll always know this shot was from 2010.

We have been sick. I had a stomach bug Sunday night and Monday morning. Thought I could make it at school. I thought wrong. Came home 1/2 day. Bucky was home too with a similar bug. Today Adam missed school due to vomiting, but I think it was just drainage. I worked another 1/2 day and then came home to be with him. Adam is struggling with his bowels...still. This has been a forever problem and it's gotten better and worse and then better and worse, and now we are certainly worse. So, we are going to the doctor on Friday to check all this out. It's not fun let me just tell you. For him or us. Seems like there's lots going on. Camargo's Fall Festival is Friday.

We went to Court Day today. We walked from the house. The weather was perfect and we had a nice time. Adam and Bucky are on their way to the UK game--Adam's first UK football game. He was so very excited! Can't wait to hear all the stories.

Where to begin. There's quite a big going on here in beautiful downtown Mt. Sterling. Everyone is gearing up for Court Day. Food, fun, and all kinds of good things to look at and buy. I think we'll go down one day and then we have a digital scavenger hunt on Sunday.

Luke is walking! Well, sort of. He'll take random steps at random times. He's close. He loves some new foods--right now he likes fish sticks, pizza, and he's crazy over yogurt bites. He'd kind of left them for awhile but he's back into them for sure.

Adam got his first progress report today. He seems to be doing very well. He dressed like a (Bengals) football player today since it was career day. This kid is eat up with football and sports . When I picked him up he asked me if I liked his Michael Jordan jersey. Ha! Guess he forgot about Carson Palmer.

Bucky is doing well. He's been helping out with the grocery shopping and making beds. This is a HUGE HUGE help. Sometimes going to the grocery sounds exciting but other times I dread it. Actually I just dread the bill at the end and the unloading of all the items and putting them away.

I am doing much better. Not as stressed as I had been. No caffeine. Just call me a water and milk girl... of course the occasional caf. free Diet Mt. Dew--yum! I'm drinking decaf coffee in the morning and I've found this yummy creamer that is delicious.

We are getting ready to leave for haircuts. I am hoping to get Luke one too. He's a bit mullet-ish in the back.

Oh, yes, I almost forgot. Megan has been here with us this week while LWC is on fall break. Time spent with her is simply wonderful. We love her.

Adam's stats are 77th percentile height and 88th percentile weight--44.5 inches and 48.8 pounds with clothes and shoes. Healthy boy. He's been so good this week. Bucky has been gone, Luke went to Cynthiana, and so it's been the two of us. He's slept with me "to protect me" and totally cracked me up at the things he says. What a sight!

I am feeling better about things. I am learning to take one step, one moment, one project at a time. I just get all "bothered" when everywhere I look there is something left undone or something left to do. I like to get things "done." I know, cakes and pies get done, people get finished......

Here's to a happy Saturday coming our way tomorrow.

To clarify, Adam will be a Motocross type of "motorcycle guy" and not a Harley Davidson kind of "motorcycle guy." That is a funny thought.

The week has been busy. Too busy. I have been experencing some chest pain/heart hurts. I'm not sure if this is stress or the caffeine I've been putting into this body to help me deal with the days. In the past I have not been a caffeine type of girl, but somehow got into the habit. So disappointing but I guess I'm going to try and not drink so much. I had a kind of meltdown on Monday and decided that being Mother of the Year (as I always say) really wasn't that important. It's just too daggone hard and I'm too tired at the end of a school day much less coming home to two boys by myself while Bucky is at church. Anyway, I've changed my mind and feel better about some things. I've been putting A and L to bed earlier and been trying to do that myself. To top it all off, it's the time of year for real shoes and real socks which I don't totally enjoy. And, it's official. All our "cool weather" clothes are in storage so I've had to be creative to find something to wear. This means that one day soon we have to haul those crazy totes here and go through them. Fun, huh.

Well, this is a kind of bummer post but if you can't rant on your own blog, where can you?

Already Friday! Where did the week go?

Halloween costumes have been chosen and purchased. Adam chose a "motorcyle guy." He had lots of decisions and changed several times according to Bucky but he's very happy. He asked to sleep in the costume the other night. Luke will be a wildcat. Bucky bought this one as well. Do I have a good husband or what? I don't know what I will be for school yet. It would be neat if the fifth grade teachers could do something.

Adam says the funniest things and I wish I could remember them all. The other day we saw a mailman on the way home and I asked him if he thought he might be a mailman when he grew up. "I'm going to be a football player, remember?" I asked him what skills he needed. "I need to do spin moves so I can get a first down, touchdown, and field goal." Guess he has it all planned out.

Luke is still into electrical outlets. He is so curious about plugs and cords and power in general. The word no phases him on most things but NOT on this area. Hopefully this phase will be over soon. He's trying to walk. He's so fast when he crawls that he's not overly interested. We are trying to help him walk everywhere. I hope it catches on. He's fourteen months today for goodness sake!

I am leading a small group with Becky for high school girls. Bucky is leading a small group for high school boys. We are both supposedly leading a small group for young couples with young kids. Hmmmm.... think this is too much on my plate with school and life. Note that I didn't have much input on the last one.

Practice for the kids' Christmas program started on Wed. Adam was excited about it and then pretty much decided against it. I hate to make him, but want him to be involved. Plus, I don't have anywhere else for him to go during small group time. I took Luke with me this time and I hope to make other arrangements. How can kids be such a blessing and yet so "in the way" of areas where I want/need to serve? Anybody felt this way before? It's my biggest issue hands down that I struggle with.

Tonight it's just me and Luke at home. Bucky and Adam are going to the football game. I hope to get some things done. Laundry is clean but needs to be put away. Leslie Waddelow posted the other day that she needs a personal assist. I agree!

I'm back! We now have internet at house so I can post, post, post! We are all doing well. Here are some highlights.

Luke is really growing and learning. He points to lots of things and grunts like he knows what things are. He still likes fooling with the DVD unfortunately and seems to not understand the word no when it comes to this. He enjoys his bath and he likes to read a certain peek-a-boo book. He looks so grown up in his long pants that he's been wearing. And, after a summer of not wearing shoes at all, he's faithfully wearing his oh-so-cute New Balances every day. Hard to believe he'll be fourteen months soon. I will post pictures of him soon.

Adam likes his school. He comes home with lots of work each day. He's always proud of what he's done. We are too! He is enjoying football season. You should see him in his UK jersey. So precious! He seems to go so hard that he's exhausted by the end of the week and then sometimes after the weekend. On Monday night, he fell asleep before 7 and slept until morning. Also, he's FIVE! Can't believe it but time flies.

Bucky has been working hard at church. The new Ignite program is going well. There have been LOTS of baptisms lately and it's exciting to be at GCC! Everyone is complimentary of Bucky and this makes me happy. He loves his job and I can tell so many times in his eyes that he's doing exactly what he should be doing. We have some great kids and great parents to be around and serve with.

I am all things to all people. Ha! Not really but between school, church, home and just the day to day things I am a busy lady. School is going well. I am working hard let me tell you! Lots of late days but I've done better this week. I am loving my Sunday School class at church. Fun times! Laundry is my worst nightmare and will always be I guess. I can get it washed, folded, and put away but just not all in the same day. Thank goodness for a laundry room with a door to shut out the madness. Right, KK? I banned her from that this past week and she went in anyway! Ha! Life is good.

Well, there's an update. Maybe I can do better at staying up to date.

3. (said as his water bottle is sweating) My water bottle is condescending.

I survived! I had a good first week at Camargo. I was WORN OUT come Friday. I mean EXHAUSTED. We had company two nights this week so on Friday night I was ready to chill. Mom and Dad met me in Paris to get Luke. They were kind enough to do this so I could go to school on Saturday. More on that later. Friday afternoon I left town straight from daycare. Adam and Luke both fell asleep. In fact, they were so asleep that I transferred Luke to Mom and Dad's car without Adam even waking up and Luke pretty much stayed asleep too. Hilarious.

I drove back to Whirlin' Sterlin' and put Adam on the couch. He slept until 10:30 and then I put him in his bed and he slept until 6:45. When I put him in his bed I thought he might not want to sleep. Instead he says, "Let's rest and relax." That he did. I rested too. I slept from 8-10:3o and then went to bed a little after 11 and woke with Adam. We just hung out on Saturday morning until Adam and Bucky left for a dad/son day. They went to Lex. and went to Chuck E. Cheese and Dick's Sporting Goods.

I spent four hours at school on Saturday. If Amy is reading this I bet she is about to die! I was the girl who never spent an extra hour/minute at school than I had to and I never came on the weekend. Nevertheless I put in the time and I must say I feel better about things. I still had some things that needed a "home" and I had to do plans which are MUCH MORE involved than RC plans. Whew! Now that I've got a format, maybe I can do a little each day and be okay. I have 27 in my homeroom which is a record for me and several students who need lots of attention.

Other highlights:
Adam loves MSCS Kindergarten. He was so proud the first day when he came home with a folder with papers in it. The papers? A lunch menu and school calendar. He was so proud!

Luke is cruising and really moving around. He still loves his bath and if you mention the word bath he takes off straight to the bathroom

We had a ball with Whitney and Allison on Thursday and Sam interviewed Bucky and I for a marriage class on Tuesday. Interesting.

Church is going well. Bucky has been a part of several baptisms lately. It's exciting to be at GCC!

Callie is still the best dog I know. She lets Luke pet, pull, and roll all over her. Adam loves her so much. "There's my good girl," he'll say to her.

By the way, Adam bought something for Luke with his tickets at Chuck E. Cheese. Awwww!

I feel like a first year teacher. Really. I am excited about my job and my coworkers and quite honestly a paycheck, but I am very overwhelmed right now with actual lessons to teach my students. We use Rigby Literacy as our program and it's different than anything I'm used to. Blair, the other 5th grade reading teacher, has not used it too much but with RTI stipulations we must use it. I know it will be fine once we make a plan but I think I've got lots of work ahead of me. As far as Writing, I've taught 5th grade Language Arts once before, so I've just got to get my head on straight. It's one of those things where I think my classroom is ready for Tuesday, but I don't know if I'm actually ready. We've had PD all week and tomorrow I am going to school to just work and get some things done. The boys have done well this week getting up and so the transition has been smooth. We met Adam's teacher tonight at Open House. Her name is Mrs. Wenda and she seems very nice. I know Adam will learn lots. Luke is doing well and is enjoying daycare food. His new favorites there are yogurt and vanilla wafers. Gotta love the snacks!

Tomorrow is coming. Our first day back on a routine and it's safe to say that we're not ready. Last week was VBS and we had lots of late nights. Lots. Friday night we went to the Legends game and had another late night. Last night was late just because. How can I look up and "realize" that it's 10:30. Shew! Tonight is Amazing Race and hopefully we can get home at a halfway decent time and get in the bed.

Here are highlight of recent days in no certain order:
VBS was awesome. I worked snacks and had a great time getting to know lots of people.
Luke loves balloons.
Nana, Poppy, and KK came to hear Bucky preach today.
I have a full time job--this does not get old!
Mom and Dad came over on Saturday to help with my room at school (Mom) and watch the boys (Dad). Wonderful.
Adam had his eyes checked and all is well. She said he seems like he might be headed in the direction of near-sightedness but I'm hoping not.
PD all week this week starting out with an orientation for new MC teachers in the morning.
Bucky is serving as chaplain for the MC football team. Go Indians!

Here you can see one of Adam's latest PlayDoh creations. We have a bird cookie cutter and then he made the nest and the egg. This really reminds me of the little bird in Are You My Mother? It's one of our favorite books. Anyway, Adam was so very proud of this and so we took the picture. This is how Adam looked after he made the bird and nest. Please note that he is wearing underwear and I'm not letting him roam the house naked. However, he is still in said underwear around 11 in the morning. We are in quite a schedule that must change soon. The boys have been up late and sleeping in late. I intend to start moving our bedtime back little by little.

Well, it's hard to get all three of these fellas to look at the camera and look "good" at any one time. This is the best shot of about 10 that I took.

Luke is crawling faste ran faster. I am exhausted at the end of the day watching him and doing what seems like slave labor around here. How can one girl meet everyone's needs? I am working on this.
Adam is excited about a trip to TK's tonight. It's a gym with trampolines, foam pits, etc. This is part of the summer reading program.

I think I am taking stuff to Camargo today. I want/need to be there everyday but I can't do that with kids. It will get done I know but I want it done right now. Wishful thinking. I am meeting with Dawn, my teaching partner, tomorrow.

Bucky attempted to play golf with Aaron Pelsue yesterday. I think they got in 8 holes before the rain sent them packing. Aaron visited a bit while Bucky changed clothes.

Better go. Luke is throwing pancake bits. Guess he'd like something else for breakfast.

Summertime and the Livin' is Easy

I took these pictures yesterday when we were at the pool for FIVE hours. It was so hot and we were in the water pretty much the whole time. Adam is getting really good at swimming underwater. He loves his goggles for sure. Luke can maneuver the entire baby pool in this float. This has been the best $3 I spent this summer. He's so cute in it!

In other news, Adam and Bucky went to the Legends game on Monday night. Adam got a foul ball! A man a few rows up caught it and gave it to him. In the past, Adam has been afraid of Big L but that night he gave Big L high five and let him sign the ball. He's growing up!

We played ball last night in the backyard. All three of us hit home runs while Luke was all over the place. He was the dirtiest he'd ever been and the rest of us were sweating like crazy even though it was after 8. In fact, Luke's bath water was brown. Let me tell you that it's hard to get dirt out of those rolls on his knees. He did get a few bug bites on his face so I'll have to spray him/lotion him next time.

Don't know what we'll get into today. I need a grocery trip and Adam needs to turn in his reading log for the library reading program. Bucky leaves us (again) tomorrow to go to King's Island. Not sure what we'll do.

Luke went CRAZY over the fish at the Chinese restaurant in Paris. Over the course of this experience, his feet were in, his hands were in, and his pants came unbuttoned. Poppy said his little heart was beating like crazy! And to think I thought he was going to sleep through the meal!

We had a great Thursday! We went to Nana and Poppy's first. Adam got to fish and check on his "corn on the cob" that he planted. Both boys rode the four wheeler although Luke wasn't quite sure about his ride and cried some. I had a lovely time chatting with Nana. It was strange to have adult conversation during the day!

We had a yummy supper at Mom and Dad's with ham, potatoes, green beans, cucumbers, tomatoes and even rhubarb. What a spread! Luke hit his head on their table and got quite a bump but was fine soon after it happened.

We headed to Salem Pike for the next fun. Carter and Adam played in the sand and did other things. I was so excited to see Max. He's sweet! Larry entertained us with the cows and it was good to see Lynn too. Being in the Tuttle house took me back to good times growing up.

Bucky left today for Summer in the Son at KCU. The boys and I went to the drive-in service at church. We have not been home long and it's after nine. Luke was practically asking me to put him to bed. Adam has his second wind so it may be awhile for us two.

Kim is coming to visit tomorrow and Tuesday, we are going to KCU on Wednesday, heading to Harrison Co. on Thursday and Bucky is home Friday. It looks to be a good week.

I am contemplating having a yard sale this weekend. I need to make that decision....yesterday. It's a lot of work and I don't know if I could pull it off. Who knows what I'll do?

Believe it or not I am getting internet at the house. It is slower than molasses but it is still a link to the outside world. I couldn't find my "real" mouse so I couldn't do much with all the pictures. Here are just a few I found that I thought were good enough for sharing. My camera is FULL of pictures but I've just got to go through and edit, save, the whole deal.

Adam played tee ball tonight. He hit one of the tee and two from the coach pitching. After the game we came home and played another hour of ball outside. I was all time pitcher and Adam and Gage, the boy next door, were the batters. Luke was the cheering section. Bucky is at church camp this week but he comes home at night and then doesn't go back until later in the day. I think Adam may go with him tomorrow and all of us will go on Wed. to hear him speak.

We are having a great summer so far. All is well.

Not that it matters, but I did post last week but it posted on Bucky's blog and not mine. Oh well. I need to go pick up the boys so let me (again) do a top ten list of things going on in our life.
1. Luke loves life and all the food in it. Broccoli, Nutri grain bars, and yogurt bites are his new favorites. And he LOVES water from a straw.
2. Adam is still hilarious and so sweet. The other day he just said to me. "You're so good...and you take care of me." He also lets me know that I look pretty in every outfit I have on.
3. Bucky is in the thick of Amazing Race. GCC loves it! Fun times!
4. I have yet to hear anything for sure about a job in the fall but I think one is in the works.
5. Adam has two tee ball games left.
6. Two weeks from today and we'll be on our cruise. Happy 10 years to us!
7. I have nothing else to write except that I mopped the floors today. So much for ten things. We are boring but happy.

Luke got four of his top teeth ALL AT ONCE! Talk about Baby Oragel coming in handy. He ran fevers and everything. He's cute with his new pearly whites!

I spoke at the GCC Mother Daughter Friend Banquet. All went well.
We are going to TN Thursday for Megan's graduation. Adam is excited about our "vacation" but was sad to think he would miss show and tell day. Funny what you look forward to at the age of four.
I've been reading like crazy. In fact, I've read four and a half books in the last week. I have done this while I've been watching a third grader and proctoring make up testing.

1. First trip back to Jtown went well. We stayed with the Coe family and had a ball. We got see Mary Blakey and our regular crew at the Gossage fish fry. Fun, but we have paid for it yesterday and today. In fact, I am heading home in a just a bit for a nap.
2. I am helping with testing at Camargo. This will be all day subbing for a week and half. Yea!
3. We are still trying to eat healthy. Seems like we lapse on the weekends but are all business during the week.
4. Just finished Valerie Bertinelli's Finding It. An easy read but pretty good. I liked the little notes to self parts.
5. Luke must be going through a growth spurt. He's been waking up to eat. :(
6. In related news, Adam has become a bottomless pit. Seriously! He can eat a huge meal and then twenty minutes later be convinced that he's hungry. He gets upset when you say no but he can't eat all day!

Hello from Mt. Sterling. Did you know Luke can say Momma? He can and it's so cute. He's been feeding himself those little puffs and yogurt bites. He seems to enjoy them. Adam and I are at the library doing our "tech savvy" thing while Luke and Bucky are hanging out at the house. Adam had another great ball practice the other night. The first game is on Tuesday. I am looking forward to it. He got some new cleats and a friend gave us some ball pants and so all we need is the shirt and hat. Woo Hoo!

Bucky had a nice time in TN with Dicky and the crew. Meanwhile Adam had strep throat and Luke spent several days in Berry. It is nice having family so close to help out with things like that especially.

In other news, our house still hasn't sold. Yuck. I am wishing this would happen. We will get to see it this weekend since we are going to Jtwon for the Gossage fish fry. It will be weird to be in RC. I don't look forward to getting home late on Saturday night. I am penciling in a nap for Sunday afternoon. :)

Don't know what else to say except Happy Anniversary to Mom and Dad! Congrats on 39 years.

Time is flying by. Spring Break was practically a blur with some down time, a day at the zoo, and then a mission trip to Beatyville, KY. Hard to belive that April is almost halfway over.

We are going to enroll Adam in the kindergarten program at his current daycare. It's part of the Mt. Sterling Christian School. I met with his teacher a while ago and she said that another year of preschool would leave him feeling bored. She was VERY complimentary of him and his academics. I don't want him to start public school when he's 4 and be the youngest one in his class. Mrs. Susan suggested kindergarten and we are going with that option. He will learn a lot I'm sure. I do have a few concerns: how he'll feel about going to kindergarten twice essentially (so I'm looking for a way to explain this) and then I wonder how he'll be grouped at church. I'd like to keep him in the toddler room. It's for 3, 4, and 5 year olds so I think I can.

Luke is doing well. He is starting to say Ca Ca and "talk" to Callie. He loves that dog! We boarded Callie over the weekend and she was extremely glad to see us on Sunday afternoon.

Adam had his first tee ball practice. He's on the Diamondbacks. After he hit the ball his coach said, "You've hit the ball before, haven't you?" He did well at practice.

Tonight is Bucky's last night to ref ballgames. They are playing three so it will be a late night.

Stuff and Things

1. Easter was great. What a perfect day. We had an awesome service at GCC and I was glad to be a part. Bucky baptized one of our eighth graders. Sweet! We spent the day in Cynthiana and got to see Walters and Gossetts. I love it when that works out. We didn't get home until after 10 but this is Spring Break week so it was no big deal.
2. We have been doing well on our diet or lifestyle change as we are calling it. We are totally enjoying Easy Walker Park here in Whirlin' Sterlin' and we walk several nights a week. Luke loves the stroller and Adam does well too. The other night we took a playground break and Adam was on the tire swing. He got so dizzy he could barely stand.
3. Luke has discovered his tongue and wants the whole world to see it. Practically every picture from Easter has him with his tongue sticking out. It's so cute!
4. We did the big task of switching our clothes. It was a huge chore and I still have not found all my summer shoes and sandals. I hate to buy flip flops, etc. but I may have to. We bought the boys their summer clothes. They should both be set. We found lots of nice things at Kohl's and Children's Place.
5. Callie is getting a haircut, bath, and pedicure tomorrow. I will be so glad to not have to sweep up Callie hair as often as I have been. It's everywhere!
6. Adam is sitting next to me in the library doing some things on Playhouse Disney. He "loves these phone cause they let me talk to people." Whatever. He is a sight in the caution orange headphones from 1989. He's about like Bucky--life with him is always an adventure.
7. Adam is playing t ball and we heard from his coach. He has practice the next two Monday nights and then games start the last week in April. I hope all goes well.
8. Better go. I hope to get a chance someday to post pictures but just imagine how good we looked on Easter. Ha!

It's back to the library for me. I've not had any luck lately in getting on the internet at the house. Disappointing, since I have some pictures I'd like to post. Oh well.

We had an AWESOME, I repeat AWESOME weekend. It actually began Friday since we had no school. Adam, Luke and I went to Lexington to see the Kenney family. Sherry looked amazing but I know she's ready for little Max to make his appeareance. Carter is so cute you could eat him. He and Adam had fun playing Thomas and Lightning McQueen.

Friday night we went to Cracker Barrel and used a gift card. As you know we are watching what we eat. Buck and I got the spicy grilled catfish and it was yummy! Adam got his usual pancake and some okra on the side. Funny! After that we went out to the country club. We joined and so we had to look around and check things out. The pool looks great and has a diving board. Adam is pumped! I am ready for summer! Since we are trying to exercise we went to Easy Walker park and made a big lap before the sun went down. It's a really nice facility and we think that's where Adam will play t ball.

Saturday we went to Lexington again. We still can't believe how close it is! Bucky had to get stuff for Make Your Own Pizza Night at GCC and we also went to Target. Mom and Dad met us for lunch at TGI Fridays. That afternoon I took the boys outside for kickball and football. It was a gorgeous day and we sweated for sure! Luke is a great spectator and Callie was so cute to "watch out" for him. Bucky hit golf balls. My Sunday School class had a get together at Carrie and Jonathan's and we were there from 6:30 until half time of the game. This was a great way for us to make some friends. Lots of graduates from 1993 and on. :)

Sunday morning was a great day. I did my monologue. I was really pleased. We had to take the boys to first service but that worked out fine. A family in the church invited us to their house for lunch, we came home for a bit, and then it was time to head back to church for the pizza night and also some meetings. It was a long day and as a result we were all in bed at 9.

I just reread this entry and I can't believe all we did. Throw in washing bottles, doing laundry, and cleaning and it just about wears me out!

We've had a lovely week. Megan was here from Monday night to today when Bucky took her back to RC. There's something about Megan that makes up stay up way past our bedtime. We had LATE nights and early mornings but it was worth it. Can't wait to see her again!

Bucky is at the church reffing games and the boys and I went on a walk. Adam played outside some too. He loves it! He can be in the fenced in backyard and I can be in the kitchen and I can see him to make sure he's safe.

I am doing my first monologue at Gateway on Sunday. I am very excited! I'm portraying the woman at the well. This series is called Close Encounters and we've used a door on the stage to symbolize God "coming in" to people's lives. I will come out of that door complete with lights and fog. Pretty sweet!

At this exact moment there is a man cleaning up poop, yes poop, in our basement. Yesterday Bucky mentioned that he thought the house stunk. I agreed and said I thought it always had some odor. Anyway, today when we came home from going out and about, there was a DEFINITE odor. Poop! Gag! Sure enough, a pipe had broken/come loose/something and the result was not good. Mike, the guy who does all the maintenance for this rental property, came by to assess the damange. He's back with parts, a pressure washer, and bleach. I must say it is humbling to think that someone is cleaning up your waste. I don't know how long this will take but I find it convenient that Bucky's gone to Lex. for WinterJam. :) Just kidding.

New things at Holt Avenue....besides the poop:
Adam currently loves showerbaths. That's a shower that turns into a bath. He takes one every night. It's strange to watch him basically fend for himself when it comes to the whole bathing routine.

Luke loves his baby food. He can put away two containers. He's a neat eater like Adam was. The only time I had trouble with a mess was when he was tired and he kept rubbing eyes and carrots on his face.

We looked at a house today. It's nice. It needs a little love (paint, etc. ) but I don't know if I want it. The master bedroom is small and the layout is different. Huge living room though and I like that. We'll see.

Bucky and I are going to begin dieting on Monday. I don't know what this means really but I guess we are just going to watch portions and calories. Summer is coming.

We are considering joining Mt. Sterling Country Club. They are running a deal for a pretty good price. It seems silly to think of this when we are trying to cut back, but if Bucky plays golf like he has in the past and if we swim in the summer it may better in the long run than nickel and diming it. I treasure the time we spent at Lakewood. There was nothing like taking Adam (and now Luke) out to the course after work and just enjoying time together. The verdict is still out on this issue.

We turned in Adam's paperwork so he can play t ball. He wants to know what team he is on. It's a league for 3-5 year olds. Last year when he played it was SO hot and I was prego with Luke. Hard to believe how fast time flies.

Callie is doing well. She's enjoyed some time outside. Bucky fixed the holes in the fence.

I guess that it's for us. I am caught up on laundry for the most part. Today I told Bucky that I dared anyone to dirty clothes today. :)

Mental note: Don't every go two days without doing laundry EVER AGAIN! I have been up to my eyeballs in dirty clothes, clean clothes, and ski/tubing clothes to be put away. Thank goodness for a laundry room so I can close the door and pretend it's not there. However, I think I am on the home stretch and this is a good thing.

It's beautiful here and since I didn't sub I went on a walk. Good for the body. I've also been working on a monologue I'm doing in a couple of weeks and tidying up the house. I see a nap in my future.

I have a neat opportunity to speak at Gateway's Mother Daughter Friend Banquet on May 11th. I am just supposed to tell them "my story" and "be inspirational." I am looking forward to it. I love how God keeps giving me chances to speak at women's events. So fun!

Tonight is date night of course. I've got some chicken marinating and we'll have baked potatoes and broccoli casserole too. I can't wait. Date night will have to be moved to another night soon since Bucky is going to ref games on Tuesday and Thursday nights. He's excited about getting some exercise and making some extra money too. Always the provider.....

We went to Perfect North on Sunday and had a ball. Here are some pictures. This is Adam with Will, an eigth grader. Fun kid!
Someone would pull Adam in the tube and he would totally relax. I can't imagine how exhausted he would have been if he hadn't been pulled.

He was all bundled up and didn't complain at all. He had one little episode when he got tired and all he said was, "I want to go home and get Luke."

This is Adam with Amanda. He loves her! When Adam is happy I am happy, and I think he's very happy here. I think his smile is priceless.

Another day=another snow day! I don't really know what we're going to do with ourselves today. Bucky's day off was yesterday so we had a super time with us all being home. Everyone except Adam had naps, we had a great supper, enjoyed a dance party, and then watched Survivor and a (very fast thanks to DVR) American Idol. One of the interesting highlights yesterday was waking up from a nap with Adam saying, "Look what I did!" He was beside my bed with no clothes on! He thought it was so funny!

Luke is going to Berry this weekend since Bucky, Adam and I are going tubing on Sunday. This will be an all day affair. Adam has been counting down the days. I hope he enjoys it.

Luke said Da Da last nght. He's really been getting good with his g and c sounds and out of nowhere starts on his d sound last night. It was so neat! Right now he's sitting in his high chair with no food. He just likes it there.

Better go and do something productive today. In a perfect world, we'd spread out these snow days instead of having them all together.

Both meals today Luke has been in his high chair. He had oatmeal for breakfast and squash for lunch. So far he's a neat eater and he loves to bang on the tray part of the chair. What a big boy! Also, notice that Luke is in "big boy" pajamas which means shirt and pants and no sleeper. Time flies!

We've had people look at our house. Yay! People looked Thursday and another potential buyer looked yesterday. This is very exciting. In another development, we know of a couple who might rent our house if we don't find a buyer by mid March. Here's a special shout out to Mae Mae and Sharon for vacuuming the place and for spraying air freshener too. Nice touch! Hope it works!

We watched the Indians play Harrison County last night. We got beat by 26 points. Yikes. It was nice to see some people I haven't seen in ages. We talked to Coach Reitz, Ronnie Spicer, Lee Kendall, Mike Aldridge, and my cousin Leigh. I admired Joe Joe from afar! Ha! Sherry, remember when he asked me if I was going to go to class one day and I told him no. I think we were roaming the halls during Journalism. Ah, memories.

The boys took their first bath together on Thursday night. I took some pictures but they didn't turn out very good. Luke LOVED it. He splashed around. Adam thought it was neat too.

I've made muffins this morning but so far I'm the only one up. Bucky is doing some devotions at Upward today and then we are heading to Lexington for a Parent Teacher Store trip and to NY and Co. for me to use a really good coupon.

Snow Day

Another snow day today and already another tomorrow. No problem. We are enjoying being home but miss Buck while he's with the GCC Staff. Adam stays busy as does Luke. I've finished a book and have tried to do laundry and other little things.

Adam's favorite Wildcat is Demarcus Cousins or "The Man with the Headband." We found this headband at church in some stuff the other night and couldn't resist. Right now he's "playing" the Dirty Birds (Louisville) and rocking out to his playlist on itunes. Quite hysterical.

Adam met Gage, the boy next door today during our TWO HOUR play in the white stuff. He's a fifth grader. They had a blast together. We all three had a snowball fight. FYI: Luke was down for a nap and I did multiple checks on him.

I tried to capture a good picture of Adam today. I told him to open his eyes. He very clearly said he couldn't hold his eyes open. I think it's cute.

I have internet at the house. I was working on some pictures and just randomly clicked Internet Explorer and had success. I figure I will order some pictures and do some things while I have it.

It's a snowy Monday. We are out of school and as you can see by pictures we played outside. Bucky's on a staff retreat so it's me and my fellas. Good times.

Valentine's Day was great. I got my roses in the form on tennis shoes. Gotta love this tradition!

We looked at a house yesterday. Neat home but I don't think it's a good location for us. Plus the laundry is just in a closet in the hall and I prefer a room. It's just one thing I don't think I will budge on. I wish we could sell the home in Jamestown. Any takers?

Luke has tooth #3. Adam had no cavities when we went to the dentist but we are supposed to be brushing better around the gum areas. The top left area seems hardest to reach.

Hello! We had a blast at the Super Bowl party. I made buffalo chicken dip and it was delicious. I was so thankful I'd eaten a salad at lunch because there were so many good things there! Adam had a big time playing with Braedon, Ryan, and the other kiddos. Luke was up the whole time. He was so cute in his Bengals jersey. I can remember when Adam wore that one! Memories! We got home late and then I messed up my alarm somehow so I woke up fifteen minutes late. Never fear because we were all out the door on time!

I think snow is coming our way. We have Adam's appointment in Lex. tomorrow so we'll see tomorrow if we'll go. If I know Bucky we will be there with bells on.

I got to sub today. It was for a fifth grade teacher that I really like. By the way, I am teaching some math and this is a total stretch for my brain but it's been a growing experience for me I guess you could say. Yesterday I put on a show using the Amy Melton method for teaching angles....a cute, cute, cute, little angle and an OBTUSE angle. Amy, you'd be proud! Oh, how I sometimes think back to good days at UC and all those looks we'd give across the hall. Has Big Kahuna been down or The Eagle? Ha!

We don't have anything tonight. I want to get in bed early!

Hello! It's February and I can't quite believe it! I started out the month with pink eye. I woke up on Monday morning at 3:30 am with a feeling I'd had before. My right eye was so sore and I knew there was lots of junk in it. I went to the doctor and got drops. I am going back to school tomorrow. I HATE to miss but it couldn't be helped. I must say that without mascara my blonde eyelashes make me look strange. It's fine at home but out in public I feel strange.

Adam has a cavity I think. He's complained about the upper right part of his mouth a few times and then last night he wouldn't let me look at it because he said it hurt. I made him an appointment with Dr. Haywood Smith in Lexington. Joy Shearer takes Sophie and Jack there and she's been pleased. Their website is super cool and so I think it will go well. We go on the 9th. Luke goes for his sixth month check up tomorrow afternoon.

I am going to head to Lord's Ladies tonight. It's GCC's version of the Guild as far as I can tell. I think we are doing something Valentiney. Bucky will watch the boys and probably watch the UK game early. I would like for Adam to take an early bath and then be ready for bed right when the game goes off.

Hello all. I get to the library and go blank on all the things that are happening. Let me just list some things as they come into my head.

Luke now has two teeth. I MUST get his picture taken professionally before he's gets a mouthful of pearly whites. He's not had any trouble with them.

Adam is hilarious. He is eating lots. I'm not surprised since he plays so hard at daycare. Most days I pick him up he is sweating. I won't even begin to tell you all he ate at Craker Barrell the other night but it was a BUNCH! He cracks me up with the things he says. Just last night he was telling Bucky about this humongous whale he's seen on the movie Earth. I love his vocabulary! I love helping to build it!

Bucky has pulled some sort of muscle in his chest. I guess it's from moving boxes and stuff. He has some cream for it but I think he's uncomfortable when he tries to sleep at night.

I am subbing three days this week. Last week I didn't sub any so I am glad about this. It's fun to see all the different ways of doing things. So far only one bad class.

We have real TV. We weren't going to but we heard about a good/graet deal and so we have Dish and (can you hear the angels sing?) DVR.

I'm sweeping and sweeping and sweeping. I enjoy the hardwood floors but seem to always be getting up dust and dirt. I'm learning that tile floor is COLD so I always wear socks and houseshoes.

Tonight is church. Adam did okay last week. He can sometimes be Mr. I-Don't-Want-To-Participate but that's okay considering he's the youngest one in the group. Someone has the nursery for Mr. Luke.

Better go check out some books. If it snows I want to have plenty on hand. I just finished Even Now by Karen Kingsbury. A friend at GCC wants me to check out Francine Rivers so that's where I'm headed.

Hard to believe it's already Wednesday. I went to my first MCHS ball game last night and had a good time. Luke fell asleep in Mrs. Debbie's arms but the buzzer kept waking him up. Adam likes the Indians and was sad that we lost. He even mentioned it again in bed during stories.

I've not subbed this week so I went to visit the other elementary schools and just introduce myself. It's tricky because I can only sub half day. We'll see how it goes.

Tonight is church. THey do a thing called Noah's Park for the kids. I'm anxious to see it.

Just a quick update on the YUCK! guy at the MC Library. Things didn't get better. Everyone knows I'm nosy so you can imagine the number of times I glanced at his computer to see what he was doing! The last straw was went I saw a girl in only bra and underwear and her underwear was about to come off. My face was 21,000 shades of red and I could barely make complete sentences to the librarian as I asked about guidelines and reported the sicko. I was out of there in no time! Who looks at that stuff at the public library. Eeeewwww!

I am at Mom and Dad's today. It's Mom's birthday so we're here to celebrate and let her love on Adam and Luke. It only took me 50 minutes to get here which seemed strange. We are out of school tomorrow. I'd like to get to Lexington to use some gift cards but I'm not so sure I want to take the boys. We'll see. Maybe it I don't sub one day this week in the afternoon I could buzz over there. I'm flexible.

We enjoyed a nice visit with Kim on Friday and Saturday. It's weird because we don't really have anything to "do" so we just hung out and had dance parties and played outside. We did go to Applebee's to watch the second half of the UK game. We don't have cable here..saving money, you know.

I am missing having two bathrooms. There are just times when you can't wait. I had one of these times last night and let's just say that a trash can got a new use. Two bathrooms are a MUST for a new home. Join with me in praying that the home on Esto Road will sell quickly.

Better go. When I get up the nerve, I'm going to try and head back to the library for more blogging.

First of all, let me totally say GAG and YUCK. I'm at the library and there's this guy next to me looking at questionable things. I could barf.

Anyway, things are good. Kim is here and so I've snuck away to check out things online. I do have a email address with MCBOE but I can only do in district things.

I am still exhausted. I'm fine as long as I'm moving but it's all over when I stop. I could use toothpicks right now to hold open these lids. We've done a few things on the screened in back porch today but I think we are all settled in. We all spent some time playing in the backyard today with Callie. We left here out there after we checked for spots where she might get out. Guess what? She still got out! Bucky had used some zip ties to mend part of the fence but about a half hour later she was at the front door. Guess she'll be an inside dog all the time.

Don't know too much to tell. I subbed three of my four days this week. Woo Hoo. Everyone has been really nice and helpful.

It's not a secret that I love the library. For example, we got our library cards for Mt. Sterling on Tuesday after moving Saturday. Now I have a new reason for loving the library besides books--the internet! Communication! I told Bucky that I feel like I've been cut off from the world but thanks to the FREE library, I can blog and check blogs and maybe even do Facebook if they allow that.

Life is good here in Montgomery County. I am officially running on fumes but I'm too busy to really notice I think. We have settled into the home on Holt Avenue and, other than the kitchen which I'm doing tonight, I think we have things organized and put away as much as they're going to be. Daycare has gone well for both boys. Adam enjoys the gym they have. He was playing football yesterday when I picked him up. He can run so fast and I love to watch him! I love Camargo Elementary, the school where I'm working four hours a day as NCLB tutor. I've worked for two days and both days I've been asked to sub in the afternoon. This is great! I've met so many nice people. Camargo has a UCES feel about it and that makes my heart smile. Bucky has the majority of his things unpacked at Gateway. I'm anxious to see how he's decorated. The kids at Gateway are really nice. We went roller skating on Sunday afternoon and it's fun to get to know them. I see glimpses of JCC kids all the time in these GCC kids. Bittersweet. By the way, Adam roller skated too and it was hilarious. Luke laughed at all the kids, but no one can make Luke laugh like Adam. It is precious.

The dress code is different here at school than in RC. They dress up and it's district policy! No more sporty spice clothes or tennis shoes for me to teach in and I can only wear jeans on Friday on school spirit day. All this said, I basically have....um....nothing to wear. I have black pants, gray pants, and a not-so-great pair of brown pants, plus khakis. We'll see how this goes. I may be using my NY & Company gift cards this weekend. Kim, wanna babysit while I go shopping? We'll talk.

Oh, dear. It's been an interesting couple of days. Sunday was our last day at JCC. VERY emotional but we felt so loved and it was great to get to hug everyone and talk to people who have meant so much to us.

We have started the packing process. When people come over I tell them, "Welcome to Chaos!" It is crazy here just with packing but Adam has decided to play with every toy he's ever had and so there's that mess too. Coy came over to help and entertained Adam yesterday and Mae Mae came over last night. Fun times!

More later. Adam is up and he's needing some hugs!

Holt Avenue House

This is where we'll make memories during our first months at Mt. Stering. The home is on Holt Avenue. We'll be renting from a family in the church. It has a fenced in backyard for Callie and she can come inside too! It has three bedrooms and one bath, a nice kitchen, a laundry room, and backporch. We'll continue to look for homes to buy. Holt Avenue is a good location for Gateway, Camargo, and the daycare at the Church of God. The daycare facilties are awesome and I hope the boys adjust there quickly. I want them to be loved and I know they will be!

We are doing things around the house to pack up. Bucky wants to wait until after Sunday to do anything big and relax until then. I am doing odds and ends that only I can do to get ready.

Luke had a great first Christmas. He's so fun!

Adam loves his Wii. He scored a 227 on bowling the other day.

He has his first tooth. I discovered the breakthrough on Wednesday. It's on the bottom and on the middle left, if that makes sense.

I can't believe Christmas is over and the (very busy) new year is almost here. We had a super Christmas. Adam was so happy to open his Wii. He wanted to high five me but was so excited that we pretty much missed altogether. He played it some on Christmas Eve day (his Christmas morning in Jamestown) and he does really well. He got four strikes in a row on the bowling. Wow!

We are having a nice time in Harrison County. It's always fun to be with family. Adam and Luke have been great. Luke has discovered that he can make lots of noise and enjoys "talking" to us. He is full of smiles for sure! Adam has had fun playing with his toys and also relaxing. He's watching a movie this morning at Nana and Poppy's.

We are excited and overwhelmed about moving to Mount Sterling. I will be working part time at Camargo Elementary, the same school where my friend Amy works. I will be an NCLB tutor and I'm still communicaiting with Mrs. Smith, the principal, on specifics of start date and job expectations. I'm hoping that this turns into something full time in the fall. We are going to rent for the first few months. We don't know where yet. Initially we were going to buy, but then everything was moving at warp speed and it didn't seem possible to find the right home so quick. Life is wild. God is good. I am still sane, at least at this point. :)

I am making calls about daycare today. I think Bucky and I are going to Mount Sterling tomororow so hopefully we can see some. We loved Higher Aim so much and I want to feel good about leaving them. As I often say, I want to think about the boys during the day, but I don't want to worry about them.

Our life in a nutshell lately: Journey to Bethlehem, moving to Mount Sterling in January, wanting to sell the house, packing up room at JES and office at JCC but not yet begun the house, Luke rolling over, Adam driving us crazy wanting to know scores of every game on TV and who's winning and losing, interview on Monday, looking at houses on Monday, shedding tears over all kinds of "last," wrapping Christmas presents, trusting God, having too many "I'm losing it" moments to share and woudn't share some for sheer embarassment, having Adam and Luke spending more time with Megan and Nick that with us it seems, doing laundry all the time,sitting in front of the Christmas tree as a family when we can, Christmas parties, not blogging.....
