It's been a good week. Luke got his first sponge bath yesterday. He did really well. Afterwards he just hung out on his blanket on the floor. I finally got the chance to trim his LONG fingernails while he was doing this. He's eating good--usually close to three ounces. We said yesterday that you can tell he's growing. Right now he's in his swing. He seems to like that.
We are enjoying having meals brought in. We've had all kinds of good things from steak to spaghetti from browines to even fresh squeezed lemonade with one meal. It's fun to see what everyone brings. Callie, our resident princess, got her hair and nails trimmed yesterday. We went to a new place in Jamestown and were pleased. Bucky said they really bragged on her. They said they could tell she's given lots of love. I think this is an understatement.
Adam is into all kinds of things. He really enjoyed when Sophie and Jack came by. I wish you could have seen this living room! We are getting ready to play some computer games together.
More later!

Luke Huffman Walters is here! We are home and doing well. Luke is eating and sleeping as he should. Adam is Mr. Helper with everything. He's Bucky's right hand man doing little chores and helping me and Gran with Luke and meals. Come and see our happy family of four!

Doctor's visit update:
2 centimeters dilated
50 % thinned
Dr. Rutledge says it should be an easy delivery.
If I don't go on my own today or tomorrow, we are to be at the hospital on Friday morning to be induced.
Come on, Baby #2!

Not a lot going on here. Leslie's shower was Friday night and that was fun. She got lots of nice things. The bedding she and Josh picked out is really cute. It makes me want to get new stuff. We've had the same comforter for over nine years now. It's SO comfy, but I think it'showing it's age. Maybe one day...

Yesterday Adam woke up at 4:45! He was ready to go. This was extremely early considering Bucky and I are not sleeping well thinking about the baby coming. Adam and I went out and about (though we had to wait until things were open) and he fell asleep on the way home around 10. One of the places we went was the Farmer's Market. Last night we had grilled chicken that had been marinated in Italian dressing all day, beans with ham, corn on the cob, and biscuits. I had a homegrown tomato all to myself since Bucky and Adam aren't fans. Adam and I made brownies for dessert. Buck said they were the best ones he's every had. They weren't all the way done and were ooey and gooey. I have to say they were delcious but I've never met a brownie I didn't like.

Adam thought we should go ride go carts last night. He and Bucky rode and then we all played some games. Adam likes skee ball and then he found this homerun derby game that he played over and over. It's kind of like the Wii. We played air hockey too. With his tickets he got a ring pop.

Adam's up fairly early today. The first thing he showed me is the trick he's taught Callie--how to shake hands. We got a book from the library about a dog who can't do tricks, so I guess he's been motivated to teach her to do something.

Bucky has the service at the state park today. Heath is going along with his guitar. For that reason, we are going to Sunday School and second service. I haven't been to the late service in quite a while.

Ready to see our baby....

A quote I read today...

Summer is a flash, an instant, a fast-melting ice cream cone, and I want to devour every last bite.

Things I'm Loving

1. Reading. I have read and read and read lately. I have finished several books in just one day. I've discovered two more authors I like. Mary Jane Clark and Karen Kingsbury. Reading keeps my mind off of the baby. I am SO anxious!
2. Watching Adam grow and learn. He truly is a sponge. Yesterday while I was working at school he called me "kid" the whole time because he was the teacher. He wanted to play school last night. We take turns being the teacher. His lesson was on monster trucks. He passed out trucks to the class and asked all kinds of questions about monster trucks. It was hilarious!
3. Dirt. Adam was so dirty after the Amazing Race pit stop at Deana and Terry's the other night that I actually had to use GoJo on his feet to get off all the dirt and black from the trampoline. Good memories!
4. Brad Paisley's song "Then" and the worship song "God of My Days"
5. Cooler weather.

Today during Sunday School we had a shower and it was a surprise! They had breakfast foods and gifts. We had a shortened lesson and then we opened gifts. We got some nice things--diapers, wipes, clothes, frames, etc. We are thankful for everything.

You Know It's Summer

You know it's summer when Adam has taken off the arms of his tshirt leaving it to fit around his waist like a skirt. He's been playing like this for a while. It should be noted that this shirt is an oversized shirt that he sleeps in...and it's 1:00 in the afternoon! I'm not sure if this is hilarious or just plain redneck.

We have done absolutely nothing today. The Trailblazer is not here. The air condidtioning is being worked on so we've been at home all day with no car. I don't think we have anything tonight.

I had dilated one centimeter on Wednesday when we went to the doctor. Baby could come any day!

Adam and I got much needed haircuts yesterday. Last night we had squash, potatoes, cucumbers, and tomatoes from gardens other than ours. Pearl and Mary had shared with us. It was yummy! Today we are headed to Somerset to see the doctor and then we have putt-putt tonight with church. I hope it's a cool night!
More later!

Thanks to Karen for sharing these pictures from the pool.

We had a nice visit with Nana, Poppy, and KK. Other than that, we've been doing odds and ends, from trimming bushes out front to going to Bowling Green on the 4th. Yesterday was chuch. It was my last time leading praise team for awhile. We had a Worship Team meeting after church and they gave us a Walmart gift card. I know this will come in handy. Adam andI helped with Amazing Race last night and so he got to swim and jump off the diving board. He had a blast!

I started putting items in my bag for the hospital yesterday. I figure it's not too early. You never know! We go back to the doctor on Wednesday. I can't believe he's almost here! I think Bucky may not go on the Spirit Song trip this weekend. I don't think I'd go into labor, but I hate to think about him having to rush back in case something did happen.

Adam and I are hanging out here today. Mary is coming by this afternoon so I can go to school. Buck is going to come do some things for me and I'm going to print off plans. Everything seems to be coming together....

Off to fold some laundry.

The cooler weather has been so nice. The doctor's visit went well on Tuesday. I have not dialted. I got a pedicure while we were in Somerset. Fun! The block party at church last night was fun. The fireworks were awesome. I'm missing Adam's last ballgame tonight because it's praise team practice. Nana, Poppy and KK are coming to watch and then spending the night. It's just odds and ends other than that.

The tball game was enjoyable last night. It was later so it wasn't as hot. It was also the first game where I got to sit in the stands and not be out in the field. Adam was more aggressive in the field--I think he got three or four balls-- and then he hit well and even wore a helmet, something he hadn't been doing. He plays again tonight at 6.
Adam is at daycare today. Buck and I are headed to the doctor and then we have a few errands in Somerset.
They have mowed the hay around our house which explains the pictures on the hay. Adam has enjoyed this process.
