Bittersweet

Today was a memorable day--my last at Union Chapel. I had that not-so-fun feeling all day in the pit of my stomach. You know, that lovely feeling where you don't know if you're going to puke or poop. Saying "good-bye" to everyone was hard, but gave me the chance to do lots of reflecting on life, friendship, and the past nine years. Wow! What a great experience it's been! I'm so thankful! Ms. Cindy presented me with a yearbook that was signed by everyone at UC. I did not read it then, but I read all the messages when I got home and they are so precious. Tears and more tears. I liked what Cindy told me today--we'll be doing the same job, but just be in different theatres.

Today was a memorable day--my first at Jamestown. I went there for a few hours this morning and early afternoon.I got to see my room and talk with some of the teachers. Andrea, another sixth grade teacher, has been EXTREMELY helpful to me. I had so many questions and she answered each one. Everyone has been so nice and welcoming. In a weird coincidence, I have the same room number at JES that I did at UCES--205. I'm on the second floor, third room form the left. I have a view out the front of the building--perfect! I am certainly a "nosy Rosy" when it comes to comings and goings.

We went to graduation last night and we are headed to Somerset tonight to watch the practice for the Dance Shoppe recital. I think we are going out to eat as well. I don't know what we'll get into tomorrow. As Dad would say, "You never know about us."

It's a busy time of the year. Here are some of the latest...

I will be teaching sixth grade at Jametown Elementary next year. This is a new opportunity for me and I'm excited and nervous all at the same time.

Adam is playing tee ball. He's on the Yankees. They play nine games, the first of which is during VBS. Don't know what we'll do about that. He is #7. I'll try to send out a schedule.

We went to Cynthiana this weekend. Peggy and Terry were in and so were Dicky, Susan, Megan and Clay. We got to see Gran and Granddad as well. The three of us went to the Horsemen game on Saturday night and then Adam went back to Cynthiana. He got to go to Kings Island on Sunday. From what I've heard, he had a ball. I"m so thankful for all his opportunties. If only he could realize how good he has it! He'll be in Cynthiana until Wednesday.

We are getting ready for baby here. I've washed and put away all the clothes we had through ning months. This was a job and also a trip down memory lane. There are a few things we'll still need before he's here. I've cleaned out toys today and put some in totes. At one point the living room floor was covered in toys so I could go through and organize. This has to be done every once in a while. It should be noted that I've done all this in my pajamas. :) Bucky plays volleyball at 8:30 and if I can put on clothes, I'll go watch him.

More later. Better go check on the laundry.

We got to see the baby yesterday. He weighs 3 lbs. 3 oz. He was not ready for his portrait session. He kept putting his hands and arms up in front of his face. Adam went with us and he thought this was cool. Baby's growth and fluid were good. He is breech as of right now. This is not a a concern until about 36 weeks. I asked Dr. Crosslin if there was anything I could do to help this. Prayer was his answer. Nuff said.

We got to see Aunt Margaret last night. She looked great. After that we ate at King Buffet and then made a much needed Walmart trip. It was after 8 by the time we got home. I tried to do some things around the house but just couldn't. Literally, I had to put down clean forks from the dishwasher and go sit down. I didn't have the energy to put them in the drawer. We had a late night on Sunday watching the Survivor finale and I hadn't caught up. I feel pretty good this morning. We have two parts of testing-our last-today and I hope this goes well.

We are heading to Cynthiana this weekend. Church tonight, pack tomorrow night and clean up the house, and then Friday we'll be on our way.

Adam is home. I met Mom and Dad in Danville this afternoon. He's already home and wearing some Superman pajamas that Henry gave us as hand me downs. Cute!

We've been testing this week. I've been finalizing VBS scripts and doing this and that around the house. There's always a project--I switched Adam's things to his new room while he was gone. This wasn't too bad. Bucky will convert the bed Adam was sleeping in back to a crib soon. We need to start bringing in totes of baby things to see what we have and what we'll need. Believe it or not, we've still not switched out summer and winter clothes. The weather is so unpredictable.

Better go get some things done so Adam and I play.

It's been a FABULOUS weekend. Adam and I went home in the pouring rain on Friday afternoon. We stayed at Mom and Dad's and then the next morning KK and Nana came to get Adam. Mom and I went to Saltwell's Mother Daughter Banquet. Mollie had asked me to speak andI was honored. It was a fun day there--good food, cute decorations, lovely ladies, the whole bit. After we got home from that, Mom and I took naps and then we all went to KFC. Mom and I had the new grilled chicken. I thought it was very good. I left from there to come back to Jamestown. Instead of coming straight home I went to the Gossages. They'd had a birthday fish fry and we got to visit and eat some of Nora's delicious cake. Good times! It was late when we got home. Today was church. Bucky did a great job preaching and praise team went well I think. He told me I could pick where we ate lunch. I knew just what I wanted--a Cumberland burger and sweet potato fries from Jamestown Marina. I love going there because I feel like I'm on vacation and the sauce that comes with those sweet potato fries is awesome. That's where the picture of the two of us is taken and also the one of my pregnant body. Bucky's on the golf course and I've been given strict orders to nap and rest and I'll certainly comply. Woo Hoo! Adam will come back on Wednesday.
Happy Mother's Day

Rain, rain, and more rain! I am ready for a pretty day and a yard that's mowed.

I am in Cynthiana. I'm speaking at the Mother Daughter Banquet at Mollie's church. Fun! I will go back tomorrow since I"m on praise team and Bucky preaches, but Adam is going to stay until Wednesday.

It's been a wild week. Bucky has been extremely busy and I haven't been far behind. I'm ready for school to be out. It won't be long. We begin testing next week. Wish us luck!

Adam is doing well. He's got these Kids Bop CD's from McDonald's and he dances all the time. He can really move. He still likes his big boy bed. His newest thing is taking showers. He enevitably sings "It's Raining It's Pouring" every time the water comes on. Showers are quicker, but sometimes he needs a good soaking.

Baby apparently takes dance lessons from Adam. He is moving around and kicking all the time. Adam's feet were always kind of in my right side, but this baby seems to be always right in the middle--like his feet are trying to shoot through my belly button. I love it even though it's sometimes a bit uncomfortable! We start going to the doctor every two weeks, and next time we get to see the baby again. Joy!

Better go look over my talk while Adam is outside. The rain has stopped for at least a little while.

ADAM'S NEW ROOM...TO BE SLEPT IN TONIGHT!

Saturday, May 2, 2009

As I type, Adam's room is being painted. Last night Bucky was supposed to umpire and the game was cancelled so he painted the two walls with the light blue. He also put together our cabinet for the laundry room and we worked on trimming our bushes out front. This morning he was up and out early to go gofling and came back very soon because of the rain. He started in on painting. This is the dark blue and it's harder to paint with than the lighter color. I can't wait to see how it looks when he's finished. While Bucky's slaving, I'm playing Mother of the Year, doing laundry, and working on things for church. There's always something!

Don't know what else we'll get to today. You never know!
